Mount Abu is where Gujarat and Rajasthan go to escape the summer. The Dilwara temples, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, have some of the finest marble carving in the world. The rest is relaxed: boat on Nakki Lake, watch the sun set, and drive up to Guru Shikhar, the highest point in Rajasthan.

Highlights

  • Dilwara Jain temples (no photography inside)
  • Nakki Lake boat ride
  • Sunset Point and Honeymoon Point
  • Guru Shikhar, the highest peak of the Aravallis
  • Achalgarh fort and temple

What to eat

  • Rabdi at the lake
  • Gujarati and Rajasthani thalis
  • Dal baati

Where to stay

Getting there

Abu Road station, 28 km below, is on the Delhi-Ahmedabad line. Udaipur airport is about 3.5 hours by road.
