How to do it

Most families do it by road over five to seven days. A common order runs from Katra (Vaishno Devi) down to the Kangra valley (Chamunda, Bajreshwari, Jwala Ji), on to Chintpurni, Naina Devi, Mansa Devi in Panchkula and Kalka, and ends at Shakumbhari Devi near Saharanpur. Avoid Navratri if you dislike crowds, or embrace it for the atmosphere. Jalandhar’s Devi Talab Mandir is an easy addition on the way.
